CTO of Cisco Service ProviderCisco
Matt Kolon is Managing Director for Cisco’s Evolved Programmable Network business in Asia-Pacific, Japan, and China, responsible for Cisco’s overall high-end routing and optical business in the APJC region. He also serves as Cisco’s CTO for Service Providers there, developing long-term technical strategy with customers and partners. Prior to Cisco, he spent twelve years working for Juniper Networks in a variety of senior positions in customer service, marketing, systems engineering, and sales. Prior to Juniper he was a Senior Member of Technical Staff for Hill Associates in Colchester, Vermont, USA, where he consulted internationally for telecommunications providers and equipment vendors.
Matt is a regular speaker at networking conferences and trade shows including Interop, MPLScon, APRICOT, NANOG, CommunicAsia and other events around the world. He is a co-author of two books, IP Telephony (McGraw-Hill, 1999) and Juniper Networks Routers: The Complete Reference (McGraw-Hill, 2002), and since 1994 has published many technical and non-technical articles in industry journals and elsewhere. He’s currently working on a book about virtualization.
Matt lives in Beijing with his wife and two children.
